  • Lower Coefficient of Drag
The Aquablade fabric has been tested as having among the lowest amount of surface resistance against water flow. Surface resistance makes up about 10% of overall drag on a swimmer.

  • Lower Turbulent Drag
The fabric features special vertical stripes which create a "channeling" effect on the water while swimming. The stripe is created by a resin-like material pressed into the fabric. The stripes create different water flow speeds over the fabric, creating a turbulent layer around the body as opposed to an attached layer. The turbulent layer reduces the eddy or drag resistance created by the swimmer. Eddy drag makes up more than half of overall drag on a swimmer.

  • Numerous tests have been performed at the U.S. Swimming National Training and Research Center in Colorado Springs, along with other leading aquatic research centers around the world. Passive drag tests in the water flume as well as active drag tests and streamline drag tests have been used. This extensive testing has proven that the AQUABLADE suit has 15% lower drag than the human skin.
